Experience the connection between breath and movement- a slow, mindful exploration to uncover one’s True essence- unfolding- like that of the lotus- cultivating an inner awareness of the beauty in all things.

Linda Moore- certified Yoga instructor: I have been studying yoga since 1998, and began teaching in 2004. I approach teaching in a way as to encourage a slow progression within the study of Yoga- in order to build a steady foundation and develop a practice from the heart. My own personal study has been greatly influenced by the teachings of Krishnamacharya, Sri Anandamayi Ma and Sivananda through my main teacher, Kathleen Hunt. Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa flow are predominating in the style I work with; I’ll bring certain focus depending on the needs of the student(s).
________
My focus in teaching is with the following:
Pranayama- extension of vital life force- breath practices that bring awareness to the inherent importance of breath in the study of Yoga, as well in our daily lives. We begin working slowly with this practice, first by gaining an awareness to the qualities of the breath in the moment, and awareness of breath with movement. As your study unfolds, and deepens, we will approach more advanced pranayama practices;
Asana- seat or posture- Here we will work on building a firm foundation that you can continue to build upon, slowly, with a focus on a steadiness from within, as well a way to move energy to let go of anything stagnant or harming to the body and mind;
Tapas-effort, Ahimsa- the practice of non-harming, Svadhyaya- self study, Ishvara Pranidhana- complete dedication to The Divine- as you see it, are some of the basic principals that I work with, regularly, in the teachings;
Mantra- Here we will explore the chants in the sacred Sanskrit language- working with sound vibrations to open ourselves as an offering to the Divine.
