Sukha Yoga    206.658.5630      South Lake Union’s Yoga Studio

Sukha Yoga is a place for the study of Yoga- union. By creating a ‘good space’ for all to be welcome,  I will work to ensure that you can feel safe to actively engage in the deep work you choose to do.

Yoga through tradition and teacher is a form of study that includes  movement and held postures worked in sync with the breath, to bring into alignment a calm body and mind- thus uncovering one’s true essence/spirit.

One can work in this tradition from an array of physical abilities, with a focus on a bodily injury in its healing process, to healing from trauma to mastering one’s ability in this moment. Yoga holds no judgment.

A focused yoga practice can enhance our abilities to ‘be at peace’ within the chaos of daily life, teaching us the beauty of ‘checking in’ rather than ‘checking out’.

Working with a qualified teacher can: aide us in building a solid foundation with the postures and breath practices, reducing the risk of personal injury due to misalignment over a long period of time; help us to cue in on our personal bodies, and abilities in the postures, learning ways we can intuitively adjust something, so it feels solid and right; teach us to listen to ourselves, and what it is we need in the practice- with a focus on Ahimsa, non-harming, this begins within; build new challenges in our practice- feeling trust with a teacher allows us to trust ourselves to deepen the practice when the timing feels right.

As the  main teacher at  Sukha Yoga, I am dedicated to offering the highest quality instruction  to assist those who choose to study yoga here.

Sukha Yoga is committed to caring for the earth, by actively engaging in the highest environmentally safe goods purchased to equip, resell, and care for the studio.

Sukha Yoga is committing, through Seva -selfless service,  a percentage of annual profits to groups working locally and globally to deepen social and environmental awareness and action to ensure a just and safe place for all creatures on this Earth to live.  As director, I will provide information on the projects that Sukha Yoga will be supporting.

About sukha yoga

For Sukha Yoga-‘good space- for the study of yoga’ I consider the following core values as the cornerstones for this project: ::: To actively practice Ahimsa in all interdependent relationships and interactions. ::: To uphold the highest standards of the teachings of Yoga- honoring the lineage of the teachers, the origins from which the teachings come. ::: To uphold the highest integrity in all decision making- never compromising Satya- Truth, for the desire to advance monetarily. ::: To welcome and embrace all people seeking out the study of Yoga- free from judgment, specifically based on race, sexual orientation, physical abilities or spiritual and religious beliefs. ::: To uphold the highest standards of communication between the teacher and the student(s) who choose to study here- to ensure the quality of safe space where the student(s) can receive the knowledge they need to deepen their practice. Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu- May all beings everywhere be happy and free. Om shanti, shanti, shantih- Namaste
